Meet Denise Burke B.S., M.Ed.
Howdy! That is the official greeting used here in North Texas where I live, work, and share my passion for using technology in education. I am a (retired) educator with a wealth of experience as an Instructional Technologist, Library Media Specialist, and classroom teacher at the elementary, middle school, and college level. I have presented at local, state, and national conferences including Lone Star TIA, TCEA, CAST, TLA, IRA and NSTA. I have been humbled and honored as a campus teacher of the year, KERA teacher of the year, and state Instructional Technology finalist.

My philosophy is based on this simple quote by Carl Rogers,
"The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn...and change."
Technology is not learning, it is a tool. Can it be engaging? Absolutely! Can it foster creativity and facilitate understanding? Without a doubt! But, the real learning happens when the tool being used is secondary to the new understanding that is taking place. Technology changes so quickly that in the minute it took you to read this over 48 hours of video have been uploaded to YouTube, 3600 new photos have been shared on Instagram, and 571 new web sites have been created.
